Distribution Element Reference - <distribution>

The <distribution<</distribution> element section describes a single distribution instance that can be referenced from within the model. These elements must be contained within a <distributions> section.

Attribute

Description

name

The text name of this distribution. Used in distribution=“” strings

shape

The built-in distribution shape strings. See the list of distributions supported here.

generator

The random number generator to use.

parameters

The comma parameters for this distribution.  Different for each shape.

lowBound

The lowest value allowed,  scaled using the rangeProcessing attribute

highBound

The highest value allowed,  scaled using the rangeProcessing attribute

rangeProcessing

clip or stretch. Clip omits values outside of the range, stretch fits the random numbers from the distribution to the width of lowBound and highBound.

location

Where “0” from the distribution starts  on the X-Axis

numberType

double or integer

separatorCharacter

For distributions that use sample data, this is the separator character

count

The initial number of random samples to produce

zeroHandling

keep, remove, or value. If value is chosen, zeroValue is used for zero’s

zeroValue

The value to replace zero’s in the sample data when ‘value’ is specified
